Peak of the Market is holding its 11th Annual Family Fun Day on Thursday, August 21, 2008 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  As always, this event is open to everyone and everything is absolutely FREE with "any" donation to Child Find Manitoba.   

 

A missing child is every parent’s worst nightmare.  Most parents would like to believe that such an occurrence could never happen to them but cases of lost or runaway children and abductions do occur.  Child Find Manitoba is there with programs for education, prevention and assistance should the worst nightmare happen.

 

Family Fun Day will be held on Peak of the Market's lawn at 1200 King Edward Street at Dublin in Winnipeg.  The day promises to have something for everyone!  Here are some of the details:

 

7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

*  FREE potato pancake breakfast prepared by Chef Craig Guenther

*  FREE coffee, hot chocolate, juice and cookies courtesy of Tim Hortons   

*  HANK FM will be broadcasting the Morning Show live from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. with Abbey White

7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

*  FREE giant slide

*  FREE bouncers in two sizes

*  FREE Winnipeg Sun Newspapers (while quantities last)

*  several washrooms and wash sinks will be available 

*  bottled water, juice and Pepsi products available at $1.00 each

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

*  FREE pony rides

*  FREE petting zoo 

*  FREE popcorn  (yes - corn is a vegetable)

*  FREE nail art by MC College

*  FREE colourful hair extension by MC College

*  FREE “Peak of the Market” Waterless Temporary Tattoos applied

*  FREE tours of Peak of the Market's Packing and Distribution Centre

10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

*  FREE additional parking off Notre Dame Avenue at the Red River College “west” lot #3W at Entrance 4

Peak of the Market will have a FREE air-conditioned shuttle bus running continuously between Peak and the College 

*  Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Fire Safety House

 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

*  FREE perogy and corn on the cob lunch (perogies compliments of Naleway Foods Ltd.)

Peak of the Market store will be open all day with net proceeds going to Child Find Manitoba.  Merchandise specials will include Winnipeg Goldeyes plastic Soup Bowls $2, Peak “Proud Canadian” backpack $2, Winnipeg Goldeyes “Mr. Potato Heads” $3, Peak re-usable “I proudly shop Canadian” Shopping Bags $3 and Winnipeg Goldeyes tin Lunch Box $5 (all prices include taxes).   

 

As you can see, there is a ton of things happening at Peak of the Market on Thursday, August 21^st.  Whether you come for breakfast or lunch or stay the whole day, there is something for everyone.  Again, everything is absolutely FREE with “any” donation to Child Find Manitoba. Donations by cheque made out to Child Find Manitoba of $20.00 or more will automatically have a Tax Receipt mailed.
